Details of Disappearance

Cindy Jones was last seen on June 29,1984 by a neighbor as she was involved in a violent domestic abuse incident with her husband Norman Jones. Cindy was bruised and bloody and screaming for help from inside her home. The neighbor contacted police who went to the residence and were told by her husband Norman Jones that Cindy had left the home out the back door. Police did not check the residence for Cindy. Norman Jones later confessed to a girlfriend that he had beaten and strangled Cindy and buried her body in a gravel pit at a jobsite in Park Falls or Medford. Norman was charged with Cindy's murder in February of 1985. That charge was dismissed in May of 1985 as Investigators were not able to locate Cindy's remains. Norman fled the state after his release, murdered a female acquaintance in Florida in 1990, and then killed himself as Police closed in on him to make the arrest. Cindy's remains have never been located.

Details of Disappearance

Theodore Jost is a U.S. Army Veteran. The Portage County Sheriff's Department was asked on Aug 30th, 2012 to do a welfare check on Theodores mother, Marie Jost. The Social Security Administration had been unable to contact Marie Jost, even though her Social Security checks were still being cashed. Theodore qualified for Social Security benefits but never applied for them. 

Upon arriving the police made contact with Marie’s son, Charles T. “Butch” Jost but he claimed his mother was traveling with Theodore. He was unable to provide a description of a vehicle and refused to allow the police to look around the property. According to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, neither Charles nor Theodore own any vehicles and neither have a valid driver's license.

Two neighbors, who had lived in the area for years, were interviewed and both claimed to have never seen an elderly woman at Charles’ residence. Please see Charley Project for all the developments afterwards. However, both of their sets of remains are still unaccounted for.

Details of Disappearance

Per Charley Project: Jovaag was last seen in Holcombe at 11:00 a.m. on June 30, 2015. She didn't have a vehicle and typically walked to get places. The surveillance video at a gas station near her residence showed her walking in the direction of home, and a neighbor saw her near the end of her driveway. She has never been heard from again.
An extensive search of the area turned up no indication of Jovaag's whereabouts.  Authorities don't believe she is still alive, but foul play is not suspected.
